What is BDSM

Many people have asked what BDSM is and this website is intended to explain all aspects of BDSM lifestyles and relationships. BDSM is the action of an individual giving up a level of control. The submissive "sub" gives control to the Dominant "Dom/Domme" partner.

BDSM means, Bondage & discipline (B&D) Domination & submission (D&S) Sadism and masochism (or sadomasochism) (S&M).

Bondage and discipline (B&D) is the act of restraining or chaining a submissive, possibly in a provocative position, with the use of handcuffs, bondage tapes, ropes or chains. This can be in the form of light to heavy restrictions. The Dominant can then engage in activities such as tickling, teasing, servitude, sexual acts, sexual denial, or disciplining with whips, crops or floggers thus controlling the behaviour of the submissive.

Domination & submission (D&s) this is where the Dominant takes control over the submissive within the limits and boundaries set out by them both. The behaviour is the giving and accepting of Dominance of an individual over another within a lifestyle or relationship/role play situation.

Sadism and masochism (or sadomasochism) (S&M) this can be described as activities that involve total power exchange (TPE) between consenting adults, this can include the activities of bondage and discipline ( B&D), Dominance and submission (D&s) and activities such as erotic restraint, humiliation, and sexual control are engaged.
